Valley of the Queens

A short distance from the Valley of the Kings, this valley was reserved for royal wives and children. Its most celebrated tomb belongs to Nefertari, the favorite queen of Ramesses II, whose paintings are among the finest in all of Egypt.

Nefertari's tomb requires a separate, higher-priced ticket and limited-time entry to protect it, but for lovers of ancient art it is unforgettable.
